  • Mood: Optimism
Thanks guys! I'm really touched that everyone is offering to help me out! I was in a pretty awful mood earlier and I hope I haven't caused anyone to worry too much when I was blowing off steam. After all, it's just a car - and it's not like it was stolen or even that badly damaged. But again, than you all! That said, I'm in an infinitely better mood now - and I have good news I think everyone would want to hear.

I didn't get much done at work today because I was on and off the phone nearly all day with the authorities, insurance companies, etc.. I guess typical follow-up stuff. Around noon-ish though, the police contacted me and said they wanted to ask me a few questions in person. Luckily my boss was understanding of the matter and even arranged for me to be dropped off (the guys at my job are really nice)! So I get there and am led into a room where they bring me up to speed on what's been going on and ask me a few more questions.

Some of it was a repeat of what I reported initially - I'm guessing mostly for official statements to be recorded as testimonies or something. There was actually a funny moment when they asked about my... uh, glasses compartment... The one with all the security tags int it. I said "It keeps my care illegal." Now... keep in mind this whole ordeal felt surreal and I was still reeling from the night before... but it was out of my mouth before I even realized it. After which I just kinda sat there stunned that I had said it. I think the sheer absurdity of it was too much for them, because after a moment, they all started chuckling. Oh my God, talk about lucky. I did, by the way, tell them afterwards that it was just an in-joke between friends. they seemed to be satisfied with that and moved on.

The really good news is that aside from the window, no real damage was sustained to my car. They told me that they'll have it fixed and cleaned for me within a day or two! SCORE! They do want to search it over for any evidence to collect on the culprit. Go right ahead guys.

While I was there, I learned this wasn't an isolated incident, there were reports of similar vandalisms in the general area yesterday and even today. Because the dumbass didn't know when to quit, it sounds like they caught him! Or at least, a really suspicious suspect. They didn't tell me much beyond that, but that's probably because they want myself and the other victims to come to the courthouse to, I guess, testify. Today. Yeah, today. Damn, they're fast. Is this normal? I would think that something like this would take a lot longer - unless it's been going on longer than I realize and I'm the last in a line of attacks.

In any case, I'm just back to change cloths and then head to the courthouse. my sister was home today so she's giving me a ride. You can bet I'll keep you guys up to speed when I return!

That's a relief. I hope it's actually the guy that they caught, this is a shitty thing for a person to go around doing. I'm glad your boss is understanding about it all.
